About Lee Cabrera:
Residing in New York City Lee Cabrera’s first taste of dance music was producing what Pete Tong calls, one of the Top 20 records in the last 20 years in dance with his debut single, “Shake It” (Move a Little Closer). He was just 18 years of age. “Shake It” has
now became a bonafide Gold record and achieved Lee Cabrera a World Music Award nomination as well as remixer & producer of the year nomination.
Fast forward and similarly to “Shake It” is the global success and remake of ABBA’s “Gimme Gimme” which is a staple track for every DJ around the world. “Gimme Gimme” is on a pace to go 100 million in streams and his now receiving several offers from the top major labels.

The Nowak Society Psychedelic Professionals Meetup
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are happening! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
Join us in July (skipping the holiday week, so we're meeting July 11th) for a special celebration and book talk with friend and author, Sean Lawlor. In our journeys through life, it is easy to get caught in ideas of “arrival.” Many of us are taught to set clear goals and structure our efforts toward their achievement. Helpful as it is to align our visions with our desires, excess focus on “getting there” removes us from our present experience, where we meet our ever-unfolding process. Psychedelic practitioners instruct clients to “trust the process” rather than attach to an outcome; as the Buddha taught long ago, attachment causes suffering. But what does it mean to trust the process? How do we do it? When we believe we are doing it, might we be deceiving ourselves? What are the consequences of such self-deception, and what might we learn in its recognition?
In this presentation, writer and ketamine therapist Sean Lawlor, LPCC will explore notions of trusting the process and attaching to an arrival as they apply to psychedelics and his six-and-a-half year writing journey on the subject, which recently culminated in the publication of his book, Psychedelic Revival: Toward a New Paradigm of Healing, released in June 2024 through Sounds True/Macmillan. In the wake of over sixty interviews with diverse luminaries in the field, a three-year education at Naropa University in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling, and numerous experiences with a range of psychedelic medicines, one truth Sean has learned is that the processes of writing and psychedelic healing share an extraordinary amount in common. Each invites exploration of the inner world, helping us “make the unconscious conscious.” Both invite a trusting of the unfolding inner process. And both are stunted by over-attachment to specific outcomes, particularly those sourced in shadowed desires.
In the end, Sean will explore hard lessons he's learned about his own shadow through writing his book, aiming to redirect illusions of a distant arrival into focus on the present, where we are and always will be arriving so long as we receive the gift of another day.
Please note that car parking in the area can be challenging. Folks are encouraged to carpool or use rideshare services as much as possible. Also, consider making an evening of it... Enjoy education and networking early in the evening and the specially crafted Nowak mocktail and cocktails by Beacon!

Inspired by the rooftop, patio & pool parties that were going on in Miami & Los Angeles at the time (2008), Ryan Dykstra was tasked by the CoClubs organization to create a new DJ concept. The result was Sunday Funday, a 3 stage DJ party on the 3 rooftops of the Jonas Furs building with a new DJ every hour and each stage playing 100% dance music.
The incredibly successful party series moved to Beta in 2009, back to Bar Standard in 2010, and The Meadowlark in 2011, and later made appearances at Lincoln St Station, Sutra and many one offs elsewhere.

Nowak Society Psychedelic Professionals Meet
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are happening! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
Join us the first Thursday of each month in Denver at Beacon RiNo at 6:30pm! Most months we'll start at 6:30pm with education and discussion with a speaker or panel. By 7:30pm we'll move to networking and socializing. During summer months, we'll be in the spacious and comfortable outdoor patio at Beacon. Join us for all or part of these special monthly events!
For June, we are excited to welcome friend and attorney Sean McAllister to join us to examine and discuss the state of the law on plant, fungi, and psychedelic medicines! Sean will provide an overview of the NMHA/Prop 122 rulemaking progress, including an overview of licensure for healing centers and facilitators starting at the end of 2024. He can also address general questions about the decriminalized environment in Colorado. Please understand he cannot provide anyone with direct or specific legal advice and are only offering educational information on the state of the law.
Assuming the weather is nice, we will be outdoors for this June talk. Ask questions, meet n greet with like-minded professionals, and explore vendors on-site offering education on a variety of topics. We will see you there Denver!
Please note that car parking in the area can be challenging. Folks are encouraged to carpool or use rideshare services as much as possible. Also, consider making an evening of it... Enjoy education and networking early in the evening and the specially crafted Nowak mocktail and cocktails by Beacon! To support the venue, we do request a one drink minimum purchase.
